Although it is a very old variety that was produced by the University of Michigan in 1963, it is still in production. It is large, attractive, red in color on a light dark yellow background. The fruit flesh is attractive, hard dark yellow in color and separate from the core fruit flesh, with a good aroma. Since the fruit eyes are resistant to cold, it gives regular products every year. When it gives little product, sometimes the fruits crack and the fruit flesh becomes soft. It is moderately resistant to bacterial spot disease. Harvest time is the third week of August.
